Ylang Ylang essential oil has an exotic, floral and intensely sweet aroma.

Aromatically, Ylang Ylang is a base note essential oil, the longest lasting scent in a blend. It blends well with Bergamot, Lavender or Clary Sage.

Meaning "flower of flowers", Ylang Ylang is a flower that grows on tall trees on the tropical islands of the Indian Ocean and has been used by the indigenous population for centuries in skin care. The flowers can grow in three different colours (yellow, pink and mauve), and all have thick, highly scented petals. However, the yellow flowers are known to yield the best-quality essential oil.

Ylang Ylang has a different distillation process than most other essential oils. The flowers can be distilled up to four or five times. The first distillate is called ‘extra’ which is used in the perfume industry, followed by ‘fractions’, named 1, 2 or 3. We use the first distillation for our essential oil, which contains the finest-quality fragrance and has the most therapeutic value in aromatherapy.
